American River White Water Rafting – South Fork

Last month we went white water rafting on the American River (South Fork) with a group of friends. The best part about rafting, especially if it’s your first time, is your tour guide. Cool part about our gal was she gave us the freedom to mess around, jump in the water, cool off and do some fun tricks off of rocks. Needless to say, some of us did fall out, but hey, that’s why I signed up. :)

Tips:

– Wear lots of sunscreen. Sacramento can get bloody hot. Don’t forget to reapply.

– These are class 1-3 rapids, they’re not scary. You can relax. :-)

– Wear clothes that dry quickly, but also protect you from the sun exposure. I wore a Patagonia Capilene Zip Neck and it was perfect.

– Get sunglass straps – I almost lost mine a couple times.
