Garland Trail Park – Carmel, CA

I like to think of myself as a type of person that is always doing something– whether it’s mountain biking, hiking, surfing, or even reading a book. Cool thing is, I ended up in Carmel with my fiance on a free monday afternoon looking for a hike with Otis and we found Garland Trail Park.

Random tips:

– They allow dogs, but if your dog likes to eat fecal matter (like mine) then I would avoid the trails marked with the “horse” sign.

– This place is infested with poison oak. If you’re a fair skinned ginger, odds are, you’ll get a rash just from the breeze.

– At the beginning of the trail, it’s pretty exposed. Fear not– about half a mile it, you’ll hit the forest.

– There are lakes and waterfalls! Find them.

After all that, we treated ourselves to a well-deserved meal at a local pub called Flannagan’s. They were dog-friendly too!
